We started circling for our story, Ten Paws. We learned the animals have paws like our feet. We then sang and danced to the Hooky Pookie. Then the parents each helped the kids trace their feet and the kids colored them in. Everyones feet were measured and we found Audrey has the biggest feet and Hannah has the smallest feet in the class. The kids took turns jumping and found Josh can jump the farthest with his feet together in one long jump. The other group tested themselves on what they could pick up with their toes.

We took the day to have a parent meeting and discuss how class was going. The kids all enjoyed watching Toy Story.

Our class started all sitting round Mrs. Tristan. Watched and listen as Mrs. Tristan told us the story. Then we made our own monsters like in the stories. Each kid had their own choice of shape and color for their monster. After we created our monsters we got together and made bridges like in the story. We retold the story with our bridges.

Marie did an amazing  job substituting for Mrs. Tristan. Our story time included a story board for the kids to understand the story. The kids took turns telling the story in their own way. The kids made finger puppets of the 3 bears and Goldilocks. We wrapped it up with a wonderful snack time where we practiced counting and matching our name.

We had class a little bit backwards. We did constructive play first since we were taking a small field trip to the library next door. The kids walked in a nice line that snaked at times all the way there. We remembered that we had to be nice and quiet at the library. The kids got to pick their own books and read them. Some even took books home to read later.
